Enrolling Mac OS with Workspace ONE

Scope

This document provides guidance on how to enroll your Mac with Workspace ONE.

Notes


You will need to be connected to the internet for the enrollment to work.
The Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub should be installed on your Mac with the icon on the menu bar:

 

If you do not have the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub installed on your Mac you can download and install it from here:

Procedure

  1. Check to ensure that the ‘Parallels – MDM Configuration’ profile has been removed from your Mac.
  2. Go to ‘System Preferences’ and open ‘Profiles’. If you do not see ‘Profiles’ proceed to step 5.
    macOS Monterey and older:
    macOS 13 Ventura:
    Open ‘Privacy & Security’ then scroll to the bottom and open ‘Profiles’
  3. If you see ‘Parallels – MDM Configuration’ select it and click on the minus button.

  4. Confirm that you would like to remove the ‘Parallels – MDM Configuration’ profile from your Mac.

  5. At the top menu bar click on the Workspace ONE icon and select ‘Enroll’. If you do not see this icon you can download and install it here. https://www.getwsone.com
  6. When the ‘Intelligent Hub’ application opens type mdm.wisc.edu and click on ‘Next’
  7. Type vetmed for the Group ID and click on ‘Next’
  8. Authenticate with your Campus NetID and Campus NetID password and click on ‘Log In’ and approve the DUO multifactor push
  9. Select ‘Corporate Owned – Dedicated’ unless you share your Mac with others. In this case, select ‘Corporate Owned – Shared’ then click on ‘Next’
  10. Read the message and click on ‘Next’
  11.  Read the instructions and open System Preferences so you can install the enrollment profile
  12. Open ‘Profiles’ in System Preferences
    macOS Monterey and older:

  13. Click the ‘Install’ button
    macOS Monterey and older:

    Double click ‘Workspace Services’
  14. Confirm by clicking ‘Install’
    macOS Monterey and older:

    macOS 13 Ventura:

  15. Enter your Mac logon username and password then click on ‘Enroll’
  16. Your Mac is now enrolled with Workspace ONE

Post Migration STEPS:

  1. If you receive the following pop-up on your Mac you will need to synchronize your Mac logon username with your Campus NetID. Type your Campus NetID and Campus NetID password then click ‘Sign-in’
  2. Type your Campus NetID password in the ‘Active Directory password’ field and your Mac logon password in the ‘Mac password’ field then click on ‘Sync Password’
  3. Your Mac logon username is now synchronized with your Campus NetID and you will use your Campus NetID password to log onto your Mac going forward
